An underwater, glowing aquarium which acts as an island in the middle of the Pearl River Delta, China. The Aquarium connects into a larger infrastructure of submerged tunnels for commuter traffic between Macau, Zhuhai, and Hong Kong. The tunnels function as foundation for artificial Reefs that attract coral, fish and bivalves which clean the Delta's pollution, while the reef zones provide refuge and protection for the marine wildlife. The sustainable, buoyant reef structures are composed of steel and solar-powered, photo-luminescent stones which provide light to navigate boat traffic within the boat channels, so not to disturb the marine zones. The reefs harness the boats' wake energy to provide electricity for the aquarium and the city.
